Default Fedex supposedly delivered! Need direction!

I need some direction on how to resolve this issue. I ordered toner for my laser printer to the tune of $325. The company I ordered it from shipped it in two shipments from different locations via Fedex. Whenever I get deliveries from USPS or UPS, they ring the door bell. Tuesday I looked at my email and saw that Fedex delivered the first package two hours before. Well, I found nothing and we were home all the time. I immediately sent an email to the vendor informing them. Wednesday the vendor sent me a Fedex proof of delivery. Basically it's the driver versus me. Later that day I got the second shipment on the porch. I have never in the 17 years living here had an issue with deliveries. I'm not saying it couldn't be a porch pirate.

My question to the THT Braintrust is how to handle this. I paid via PayPal. Do I dispute the charge with PayPal or the credit card company? The missing box contained the majority of the order. The second only contained one cartridge. Thanks.

Definitely dispute with Fed Ex, see who signed for it with driver that delivered it. I run my own business and was expecting a warranty compressor for a customer, was over due so called and checked tracking and was told was delivered on a certain date and time, wife was home and have security cameras and no one delivered anything, went round and round with Fed Ex and finally tracked our Pkg down and was delivered to another business uptown that wasn’t even delivery address and they had the pkg for almost a week before we tracked it down and was said it was delivered just not to us at the correct shipping address... had this happen more than once with Fed Ex

The vendor shipped it with no signature required. To add insult to injury, my damn porch security cam is wireless and lost signal connection, otherwise I would have seen it.

Maybe some of your neighbors have cameras that might have recorded the truck at the supposed time of delivery. Ask around.

Some wireless cameras also have internal video storage. But I suppose you already know it does not.

None of the neighbors have cams. Mine does not have internal storage.

The FedEx truck “probably” has GPS tracking, so they can match up the time of delivery to the location of the truck.

Also, don’t rule out that the package may have been stolen.

Four cartridges, four colors for a Ricoh multi-function laser. I won't use an ink jet.

Not ruling it out. I've just never had an issue in 17 years living here.

Fed Ex will do anything in their power not to pay up.

Was it Fed-Ex Ground? Which is just a step below the post office. FE Ground is the former Roadway Package System and they are independent contractors.

You can buy a route if you wish. A few are them are for sale. Get one, pay your drivers min wage, no health insurance and get what you pay for.

If it were me, I would call the sending company 1st to give them an opportunity to trace the shipments and make you whole. If that doesn’t work and you paid by cc, contact your issuing card’s conflict resolution center and possibly dispute the charges.

Vendor sent me a copy of delivery proof that has the vendor and myself on it and that signature was not required. I have open a case with PayPal. Let's see how that goes.

Good luck. UPS did that to me several years ago and I never got restitution.

I was waiting for some parts from SIM. I came home for lunch and was out front, throwing the ball for the dog. Along comes a USPS van (different from the usual daily one) and drops something in my mailbox without getting out of the vehicle. I assumed it was mail.

Half an hour later I get an email saying "delivered" Huh? Go to the mailbox on the way back to work. The pink slip said: Package undeliverable. The "Dog loose" box was checked.

If the un-svelte biaatch was too fat and lazy to run the Choco Lab gauntlet to the front door, she could have waved me over.

step 1: notify the sender (Which you already have)
step 2: contact fedex (if insurance is being claimed, typically sender needs to handle that part, but that does not stop you from trying to track down the package)
step 3: contact paypal (do not charge back directly on CC, you are violating the paypal user agreement you agred to, and dispute process. start the dispute process once the sender says they will NOT refund and your package could not be located)
step 4: get better camera system (fyi, wireless cameras can easily be jammed)

I believe they have GPS scanning when dropped off. They can check to see if they were even at the correct house. Had the same thing happen and they confirmed it was not delivered by where it was scanned.

Been there dont that.

when this happened to me , I went to fedex ground and rang the door bell at the gate until someone met with me.
when this happened to me, I went to fedex express and saw the on duty manager.
when this happened to me, I went to main post office and saw post master.
when this happened to me, I went to ups distribution center and saw the manager on duty.

I've had trouble with them all and nothing solves a problem faster than a face to face that is not going away, wavering, or allowing it to continue. Some have trackers and can pin point the problem, some don’t and use other methods. In all these cases the problems were resolved, more or less. I was respectful but stern. I used my vocabulary instead of the volume of my voice to convey my disappointment. I have all of their phone numbers in my phone and don’t hesitate to use them. One of my questions is can this be resolved at this level or should I start moving up the food chain?

I thought they scanned packages and gps location was also recorded with the scan.

I had to chase some down. Not FE. Dispite the tech one was delivered wrong. One was left atop the rural mail box. Neighbor had it. Realized it was likely to be stolen left like that so he grabbed when getting his mail. I asked them to never leave my mail like that. It was a sub carrier. Glad.the neighbor got it. Wish he called me before I went searching. It was over a weekend and we we at the bay not home.
