As the wife, I guess it’s a toss up since I absolutely hate shopping for anything
other than fishing related things or boats. I would rather be in the marsh fishing
than anywhere else. As of today, we have 2 boats. I am the one who found and
pushed for both boats. I’d actually like to sell one of them and buy a bigger boat.
I appreciate every penny my husband makes and try to save as much as possible.
You guys may say you have won the marriage lottery but that’s exactly how I
feel about my husband. I can’t wait for him to retire.

Depends on the woman and the type of boat. My woman is the best, a lot cheaper than a boat and far more enjoyable. Boat can be replaced, my wife can't be...

Both can REALLY screw you, but you can only screw the wife.

If only they would stay that way.

Like the old saying, a man gets married hoping his bride won't change while a woman gets married hoping she can change her man.

When we first got married, before a fishing trip or a business trip or whatever, it was, "be safe and call me when you can."

Now it's, "make sure your life insurance is all paid up."

My new boat was 70 grand.
Lifetime alimony? That is so messed up.

Boats and women are almost the same. They can be beyond awesome for short periods of time, but mostly they're just a pain in the ass. I've spent a fortune on both, but my life would be boring without them. I can't stand being bored.

The best of either can cost big money if you don't take care of 'em . . .

No, but it can definitely sink you with the possibility drowning you.

I can tell you one thing, if you start to talk about your woman like your "other possession", the boat, her costs will then go through the roof. Tread careful there.

Have a bunch of upgrades to do to the boat. Will come back and report if they cost more than the new car etc that the wife might want.

For me, a boat costs more. Even a canoe would be more than what my wife costs me... she's net positive, in many ways!
