Default Anything to do in Florence SC?

Just arrived in Florence with the family for the night before we continue our journey down to Disney tomorrow, is there anything in the area we should check out to kill some time? Thanks

there wasn't anything to do but farming and the railroad when my family left in '61. nothing there when i was stationed near Florence (Shaw AFB / Sumter) in the early '70s. So, I imagine there isn't much now.
BUT WAIT! There is more! there is an Air Museum in Florence.

Drink beer and kick some ass. Be careful when the beer runs out

Oh buy some sweet potatoes while you are there.

I was there a couple of years ago, ironically enough it was to work claims for Hurricane Florence. I found a BBQ place that was fantastic and had some on Saturday. I wanted to go back, but they were closed on Sunday. No problem, I'll get some on Monday. Nope, they were closed on Monday too.

Just about every local place was closed on Sunday and Monday. Me and my buddy tried 5 or 6 places and they were all closed. We gave up and got fast food. Not sure why, but apparently nobody eats on Sundays or Mondays.

Nope. Pretty boring town. Iím a bit south of you tonight doing the same thing. Camping out in Walterboro and heading to see the mouse tomorrow.

Be sure to top off with gas in SC before you get too far south. SC has cheaper gas taxes than GA or FL. Walmart at exit 57 is easy in and out, and you can see the pioneer boat plant as you exit the parking lot. If you have any time to kill, the Artisan Center in Walterboro is pretty cool to check out.

yep. Getting dukes for lunch tomorrow. Presently about 1/4 mile from Pioneer. My in-laws own a big tract of land right behind the plant.
