I am not offended by electric cars. I just think that their batteries are ridiculously overpriced.

Once zinc-ion batteries make it to market, places like Musk's big battery factory will go belly up.
Wish I was in the ground floor with these folks.

I'm not offended by them in the least. But them getting special parking privileges or free charging on government property pisses me off.

I got a chance to run at Sebring alongside the Etron Q5. Amazing machine and quick!

Since they don't make much noise, I can see in the future, speakers being added so that people, wildlife and such knows that they are coming along.
Imagine the hacks that will be made to add custom noises like a continuous William Tell Overture.

I don't think they're a bad idea they just need to get more range before I would want one.

I'd prefer the Dukes of Hazzard horn on a Prius with the Confederate Flag on the hood. ..................

As far as having electric I don't see any charging stations in my city and I'm 10 miles outside the city so I don't think it would be practical.

Ridiculous video but what else can we expect from a company that sells EV?

Does this video reassure anyone that is offended by EV?

I don't see how it could unless the viewer is plain stupid and lacks the ability to see through basic level marketing techniques. The video doesn't mention the range of that vehicle. The video doesn't list how many public charging stations there are in America, in the major cities or more importantly how many are located just out of range from major cities.

100% useless, just as EVs are useless.

Range, is that driving distance or is that battery life?

To my way of thinking, until they get the cost of batteries down to a couple hundred bucks for the whole kit and kabotual the car will always be throw away car. And for the money then want to buy one it's not happening in my life time!

290 miles of range? Try only 190...it's rated for 204, but testers have only been able to get 190 out of it. The Etron while attractive, is a complete failure by Audi. It was rushed out and it's just not competitive.

Interesting article.

Driving range is what matters plus charging time. I would expect at least 600 miles before a recharge and would want that recharge to be no more than 15 minutes. But the current ones may fit the needs of some people or people who put up with bad technology just to prove something.

almost every family has 2 cars and for almost every single family, an EV would be more than enough as 1 of those cars. Even with the current technology. As it scales up, prices will come down for a lot of things associated with it.

Some people are early adopters of tech because they realize it needs investment to move forward or it will be dead before it starts no matter how good it may be.

So what your saying is, it suffers in the same manner the Bugatti Veyron did. All that performance and luxury, but oh so short lived if you decide to use it. At WOT the veyron ran out of gas in 12 minutes and the Vitesse does in 10min. Of course that may be by purposeful design as the tires are only made to last for 15 min at 250+ mph and running out of gas is much more pleasant than a tire blowout at 250+.

You know how your boat or golf cart needs new batteries after 4 years? That's why I'm not buying one. Motorcycle ... maybe.

600 miles of range? You'd need a vehicle to drive 60 mph for 10 hours straight?
