Sorry brother. Havenít lost my wife but lost my mother when I was 22. Saw my dad go through it. Keep your head up and enjoy your family. Things never completely go away but get better with time. Hard to explain. Wish you the best. PM me if you need someone to talk to.

Sad to read that Coork. I donít know what the illness was like for you guys but Iíve seen it with family and how hard it is. I hope that knowing her pain has passed will offer some solace.

There will be many new ďfirstsĒ in the next year and they all will have challenges. As men we tend to batten the hatches and turn bow into the waves when it hurts. Thatís a good strategy but itís doesnít have to be the only way. Stay close with your family/friends and lean on them when you need it, and sometimes when you donít think you need it. You can see thereís a network of support here on THT as well. Best wishes for you and your family.

Sorry for you loss. This is probably selfish but I hope I die before my wife. Not sure what I would do.

Sorry for you loss. When you're up to it, could you share more about the love in your life Shirley, so we all know her and you a little better... then together we may all shed a tear, a laugh, a smile and a prayer.

Her banquet awaits. Amen

Hey Coork, it's a new day now. How are you doing?

As stated above, how about sharing a story or two about Shirley? And I'd truly love to hear the secret to 40 years of marriage.

How old are you? How old were you guys when you got together? Was there some little thing you guys did every day to ensure 40 years of marital longevity?

Another big hug for you today!

Makes a lot of sense but I have told the Mrs that I want to go first; I could not live without her.

Coork, may your wife Rest In Peace until you are beside her again.
