Default The Perfect Storm - Backstory

I'm sure most of you saw the movie, The Perfect Storm. Perhaps you even read the book. But, do you know the backstory? How about the lawsuit?

I hadn't until now. I thought some of you would be interested. Perhaps some of you know more...

Doug Kosko statements are interesting....“I looked down at the fish, and it’s staring up at me. It’s big. It’s beautiful. When you take them out of the water, and they’re still alive, they’ve got all these colors. More colors than the rainbow. And as they start to die, the colors fade away, one by one. And it’s looking up at me, I know it sees me. It’s old, I don’t know, 10, 20 years. I’ve taken it out of its environment. And it’s like it’s saying to me, ?Please don’t kill me. I have a family.? And I don’t know why, but I just said, ?If you let me live, I’ll never kill another swordfish.”?He slaughtered the fish. “I had to. That was a big fish. They would have killed me if I tried to throw it overboard.”

But he could not shake the feeling that some deep spiritual communication had passed between him and the fish. On the way back into Gloucester, all he talked about was that he was never going swordfishing again."

Wow....I didn't know she moved down there...we go down to Anna Maria Island several times a year and frequently eat in and boat around Cortez Village...2x really good restaurants there.

I remember when it hit, I was living in Noank CT at the time...an area that got hit fairly hard...I recall lots of streets under water, and nice boats tossed up on the stone breakwaters and railroad tracks, and marinas pretty messed up.

Always enjoyed the movie since I grew up in a historical fishing town, Stonington CT.

I'd say we all have those moments of clarity? I know I did and it was over fighting. Between my strength and my rage I knew I was going to kill someone with my bare hands...so I stopped.
