Default Yachtworld website redesign WTFF?

Dedicated YW user here. They've changed the site where I am no longer able to drill down a region (in my case, the northeast) and search from there but you have to pick each state individually. Am I the only one that this pisses off to no end? I am not going to look at a boat in the lakes, or in Florida. I have no desire to go any further north than Maine or south than New York or Connecticut.

Ruined a perfectly good site, I am now so turned off I don't even want to use it anymore. Am I the only one?

What are you guys using?

When sites get overhauled, they care about:
1) cost
2) regulatory compliance
3) how pretty it looks
4) if they think it might win an award
5) how easy it is for them to update content.

No one involved in the site redesign gives crap about how people use it. It's all about showing YOU what THEY want you to see.

Leave constructive feedback on their site, and they may just fix it.

I've noticed this common theme running with lots of boat, car, etc. shopping type websites. They all make them more difficult to narrow down what you are looking for. It forces you to spend more time on their site, and click through more listings. Making it harder on the users, makes them more money.

It is the pinnacle of asshole web design, but it's very common and becoming even more so.

I started a thread/rant about this a bit ago...but it never took off. Modern websites are less useful than the standard site from 10-15 years ago. Funny how we go backwards.

New modern style websites are annoying

Quick read on this thread made me look into whether or not there's a yachtworld app.. THERE IS!

Seems simple to use, can drill down location search based on zip code or actual personal location.

Heres a screenshot

give it a shot... it's easier to use than the boattrader app

are their websites still going down all the time? when i paid, there were constant outages.

its 2019, where is the ability to see high-res pictures???

also, while region was good, even better would be location search from point A out to a radius N miles

As far as the app thing, I am locked out of my Apple ID so have to resort to looking on a desktop only.

Besides, I am not one to go boat hunting on a phone anyways, need my two 22" displays at work for maximum efficiency.

Yachtworld functions better under google chrome than internet explorer. I’ve noticed this with quite a few websites lately.

YW went from decent to lousy.

It sucks now.

For the amount brokers must pay them, you would think they would focus group this stuff before changing the webpage.

Their UK site still has the old advanced search layout. Just change the currency to US Dollars and the Units to Feet if you prefer. https://www.yachtworld.co.uk/advanced-boat-search/

Yachtworld immediately redirects me to the new search if I try to follow the google links. I think they know what country you are accessing from and if you are accessing from the US they redirect you to the new search. Where are you located? Maybe it directs you to a different site. As I posted earlier, their UK site still has the old advanced search.

Just go directly to https://www.yachtworld.co.uk/advanced-boat-search/ for the old search. Change the currency and units to US if desired.
