One big advantage of living here in the north is that we don't have those things.

Check the video out. Not that I would have done any better, but that guy is lucky that snake wasn't operating at 100% meanness when he tried to box him up. Yikes. If he was already beat up from the hurricane as they said I would have done the "humane" thing and shot him....Probably about 12 times.

Not a bad size. The first static pictures are using the trick of holding it out far away from oneself...to create the illusion of it being much larger than it is.
However in the video (in the link) you can see, while it's not HUGE, it's still a fairly large mature one. And they are a meaner type of snake (when healthy...not clobbered/injured like this one).

I always liked snakes, when I was a little kid my dad got me into catching them. About 15 years ago a Columbian Red Tail gave my left forearm a pretty good bite.

You guys and your long arming that's a big cottonmouth. I've killed 3 the biggest a little under 4' and he tried his dampest to get away from my loppers cutting his head off. I couldn't imagine this 1 at full strength there a lot stronger than you think
