Agree the US is right up at the top of the list. I also love Ireland.

USA for sure needs to be at or near the top of the list - We've lived east to west - north to south / mid-west & traveled all over in between

Austria & Germany have some beautiful regions as well that I would gladly go back to

USA for sure. I kiss the ground upon returning from out of the country.
This is the most beautifullest piece of dirt in the world....I don't care what they say.
I'll cast a vote for the Everglades. A unique place on Earth.

Put me down for Austria.

I agree that the US wins in terms of diversity to answer the question directly, it's Austria.

Australia has a great diversity of landscapes due to, like the US, large land area that spans the tropics to frigid zones.

We have huge areas of arid landscape and desert, from sand dunes to rocky deserts. Other standouts are our beach and coral reef areas (Great Barrier Reef is the obvious one, but awesome reef/coastal areas on the west coast like Ningaloo). Tropical, sub-tropical and temperate rainforest. Small alpine region. Extensive rugged coastline areas both in the far north and far south.

Australia has the second highest number of natural world heritage sites (12, equal to the US).

We also have something else that makes our landscapes much better to experience - hardly any people. Area about the same as the lower 48 US states with only 25m people, and over two thirds of those concentrated in just six cities.

Other notable unique landscapes:

Best desert landscapes - Namibia.

Okavango Delta in Botswana

I have been fortunate enough to travel all over the world. North, South and Central America, Europe, Africa, Caribbean etc....

However, the most beautiful country in the world is definitely New Zealand. I rode my bike around the south island and then spent another 10 days chasing some skirt around the north island. The scenery is amazing. Rain forest on one side of the road and a glacier on the other.

It's breathtaking.

I'll toss in a vote for Chile. From the high desert to their wine country to the pacific coast and the southern portion which isn't unlike Alaska. The US ain't bad either, from The Keys to the Rockies to Alaska to Maine, lots to choose from.

This is why I'm unqualified to answer because rainforests and mountains and oceans are my pinnacle. Throw glaciers in there and...sounds incredible.

Man....I would LOVE to make it to NZ one day. Sounds stunning.
I have also heard about Asia. I know it's never ranked high on the list, I think it's because of the politics and maybe the difficulty but I hear a lot of Asia is stunning. Especially China.

If you like New Zealand, checkout Nova Scotia and especially Newfoundland on one coast, and BC on the other. NZ is wonderful, but no need to go all the way over there for the incredible scenery. USA has the greatest diversity, virtually all of which you can see in one state (and I have been to them all) , but you got to average out the ugly, which we have a whole bunch of too.

beauty is all in the eye of the beholder and most everyone has some different thought on what is beautiful.
give me the shallow flats with Reds tailing all over , seeing bait schools getting busted up with fish coming completely out of the water chasing bait, birds working over all of this ,and I am in heaven

looking at mountains and valleys close up or off in the distance does nothing for me.
driving for hours or days to look at some trees turning all different color would be tourcher to me

New Zealand, south island, spent 3 months traveling there in our 20's with my now wife (gf back then), we are going back to the south island this year for the month of December in our 40's. We've been chasing the landscape for 20 years and nothing compares.

Bavarian Germany had the most vibrant colors and most plush landscape I’ve ever seen. The flowers and grass looked fake they were so perfect.
