Default Shoutout to my Maui Jims

A few weekends ago, my 10 y/o son and I were at the driving range. I had just bought him a set of clubs and was showing him how to swing (real blind leading the blind here).
After some tips and pointers, I decided to back away and let him at it. The only problem was I suppose I didn't back away enough and he whacked me on the follow-through.
His driver struck me right on the left eye. Thankfully my sunglasses took most of the beating for me. Mind you, I still had a couple of scrapes and a slight fracture to my cheekbone, ...and I still don't have quite all the feeling back on the left side of my face. But the thing that I wanted to point out and praise here is that my sunglasses really saved me. Had I not been wearing them, my facial damage would have been much worse.
A hospital visit and $100 later to ship my glasses for new lenses, and all is right with the world again.

I can beat that , my Costa’s saved my eye not my cheek when a stretch 30 flew out of a Cobia I was trying to gaff boat side . 2 barbs stuck in my cheek past the barb (sorry no pic) trip to emergency room after stretch was cut loose by bolt cutters and all was good again. Salty says wear your sun glasses.

Speaking of golfing mishaps, my brother, a friend and I were out one day. Friend is hitting and brother and I are off to the right slightly ahead of him. Yeah, we outdrove him . Friend swings and ball shoots off sideways. I hit the deck, but brother isn't so lucky. Ball hits him in the head. I run over and he is dazed, but no blood or swelling or anything. He dipped his head at the last second and the brim of his baseball cap took the direct hit. No worse for the wear after a minute or two.

Hope you're feeling better soon. I have Maui's and Costa's both with readers, both provide great protection.

As long as we're playing "my scar's bigger'n YOUR scar"...

I once had a crankbait slingshot at my face. One hook of a treble hook went into and out of my right eyelid. I could feel the steel bend of the hook against my eyeball but no damage at all to my eye....Nighttime fishing a small lake in Wisconsin in late November. I was wearing fingerless cotton gloves and when I reached up my glove got caught I the hook. Now my right hand was immobilized....I called 911 to have an EMT meet me at the launch. A local cop I knew called me back - he'd heard the call and earlier had seen my rig was the only one in the lot - and asked if I needed him to break the lake patrol boat out of storage to come get my stupid ass....""Naw. I'll be OK"...Then I realized I was on my boat with the pull start, tiller motor.

I took a good ricochet off of my Maui Jim's...jacketed bullet came apart on something, not sure what. They're not safety glasses but I happened to have them on and forgot to switch them out for something intended to do the job.

Right side lens was destroyed and I got a good fragment of copper jacket embedded in my throat as well, but no damage to my eye. Or the frame. I ordered new lenses. Very happy with the glasses. Very careful about what double-checking what's on my eyes now.

Does anyone know where to buy with the Z87 stamped on the arm?
Real OSHA glasses have to have this stamp.

I went to (2) high end shops today, knowing it was going to cost 2x web pricing.............the sales people had no idea what I was talking about, when I asked if the are "safety glasses".
They turned me towards Costa--the ones I was wearing, when I walked in.
