Looking at the Facebook profile pictures, just about every picture is a selfie. WTFF?

His girlfriend is not too shabby. I think she'll be looking for another captain at some point.

I have a bad feeling this boat will wind up with a couple of Yamaha's hanging off the back and starting a new thread in the future.

A) Who refers to their own boat as "The Yacht"?
B) so can I go over there and claim this as a salvage? right? Its sunk and there isn't a Capt onboard?

Stupidity isn't an excluded peril so he is likely in pretty good shape on his insurance claim.

A pair of mud motors and he could drive it out of there this afternoon!

If you pump it out and raise it, yes

No, you can't claim salvage.

Default wow

the boat name should have ended this conversation before it started. He's laughing at us poor folks, telling himself and wife, look how roud up these poor folks get over someone elses property. If he does indeed have mad money, this is the equvalent of a dollar to him. it's all relative. he's probably having a drink looking at a new 65 viking, as we speak.

b) if you know what you are doing, sure. there are laws around salvage. and you could be liable if you touch it and fuel starts leaking, etc.

No, there are no "salvage rights" in Florida. You cannot just take a boat because you find it somewhere. I'm guessing this is an insurance claim waiting to happen but his public Facebook profile and news attention is going to make this a tough sell to the adjuster.

Stupidity isn’t, but an intentional act is.

I"m betting the insurance company will sit on it for a long while, pickle the engine and hand the now POS back to him after 1-2 years. He will pay for his neglect and lack of planning
