Default New Jeep Wrangler Exhaust

I needed a new exhaust system for my basically stock 1998 Wrangler. I wrestled with various performance systems, but really didn't want it to get to loud or end up sounding like a bumble bee, rice burner.

Well, I settled on a Banks Monster Cat-Back system. This system is AWESOME. It produced a nice low growl, not obnoxious, but clearly healthier than stock. The muffler and tailpipe take the system from 2 1/4" diameter to 2 1/2" to reduce back pressure and allow the engine to breath better.

I didn't really expect that much of a performance gain, but I sure got one. The engine spools up MUCH quicker, it really feels like a different vehicle.

If there are any Jeepers out there, I highly recommend this system.

Thanks for the post. How much???

What do you think of the new 4dr JK's? I am thinking about getting rid of my bimmer to get one but I'd keep the 97 TJ Sahara as well

The system was around $250, instalation at our local service station was an astounding $66. I think it was so cheap because the service manager also has a Jeep and he was talking my ear off over details on the system.

I like the new JK, looks like a nice vehicle, but I haven't even sat in it yet. Our TJs are likely much better off road due to the short wheel base though. Can't wait to check one out closely.
