Default USA and Canada, one country

Crazy idea I know, laughable actually ... but I'm Canadian and often wondered about the possibility of one large supercountry --- USA and Canada. While I think its easy to let the differences get in the way, think of the possibilities. With only 35M people in Canada vs 330M in USA, I doubt we could sway the political landscape. But imagine the land mass USA could access and the business / economic possibilities for Canadians without the border restrictions. Our cultures are so intertwined anyways. We're practically brothers.

What would the flag look like?
National anthem?
We're bilingual, what about that?
We still like the Queen.
We have poutine
We can leave Justin Bieber, Celine Dion and Nickelback out of the deal.

Actually just hoping to get USA Amazon.com and USA Netflix.

No thanks!

If the USA wanted land, we could have taken Germany, Japan, France, Italy and much of eastern Europe & North Africa

Or we could send the Salvation Army up to invade Canada and take it without having to become "political' brothers.

Sorry couldn't resist the last!

We could staple a couple more stars on the flag for y'all.
National anthem stays.
Sorry we only speak English and Spanish here, the French people will have to learn Spanish like the rest of us.
The queen has to go, sorry.
Poutine has to stay in the north, we arent going to accept that below the Mason Dixon line.

Healthcare?
Mounties?
The metric system?

We have some more stuff to work out.

French Canadians will hate us. (They hate Canadians too.....) They won't come.
Healthcare will no longer be "free." Flag will be US flag (No leaf) Will have a new star for each province.
Queen disbanded after Freddie Prince died.
You'll have to change your Thanksgiving day, but we'd really like to expand your football markets. Canadian football is a great game.
I like your colored funny money. Looneys and Twoneys.

We will be bilingual, but Spanish will be the mother tongue and english/ebonics as a second language.
O Canada is beautiful, but has no "rockets red glare....bombs bursting...etc"

/cough
were a socialistic country whether you want to admit it or not and there a capitalistic county.

The only parts they would be after is Alberta and maybe the other Western provinces due to the vast natural resources. Alberta and Saskatchewan might be on board with it ( I sure the hell would be)

Rest of the country is dead weight

I like the idea.

1. Just like our stars and stripes.
2. The star spangled banner.
3. English will have to be the official language.
4. Everyone likes the queen but we'll need to dispense with the parliamentary BS. Every province should get non voting seats in the house.
5. There's some poutine to be found in the US, so we can live with that.
6. Where are Justin Bieber, Celine Dion and Nickelback going to live?

Here's how the swap will be best suited geographically.
USA gets all Canada east of the cascades or lets say 150km east of Hongcouver......No Quebec because they don't wish to even be part of Canada. France can have them.

Canada goes total commie, but gets N. California, Western Oregon, Western Washington. Welcome world to the new Commieanada. To join up with Commie China, N. Korea etc.
Rest of Canada becomes states with a star on the flag. Maritimes become new states north of Maine.

Language still Spanish/English/Ebonics.
Gun rights restored.
10 amendments accepted by Canadians.
We use your colored funny money and Looneys and Twoneys.
Wall constuction starts along border of Cascades to keep commie infiltration out of country.
We must hold onto Disneyland and Hollywood at all costs. How would any of us know how to live our lives and vote without movie stars and music stars telling us???????? Everyone loves Mickey.
Poutine replaces the Turkey as Holiday bird.

Yes, we'd be a joke, but we already are.

It seems the 35 million need to assimilate the ways of the 330 million and not the other way around. I have been to the Maritimes and from Saskatchewan west. Love Nova Scotia and the Canadian Rockies which under my plan would just be the Rockies. Then again due to political correctness we might have to call them Canadian American Rockies. Quebec and all , well we can give them either to France or Mexico.

If this plan comes to pass when y'all down south in the winter or all move to the Carolinas or Florida please don't tell us this is not the way yall do it up north. Welcome to America brother. Lol.

Well let's make one of those arctic islands no man's land for Bieber, Dion and Nickelback. Each provincial parliament main entrance is reserved for the Queen only. Even MPs enter on the side. I assume fed parliament is as well.

In that case can I just have USA Netflix and Amazon.com? We promise not to win another NBA title even though there are no Canadians on that team haha

Make each of the provinces a state, so about 10 more. The populated ones would vote dem, the rural ones republican, it would be a lock for republicans to have senate at that point...

We burnt their White House down once. Would we have to do it again? They couldn't Bomb Us that close to their borders unless they wanted to wipe out Michigan/Ohio/New York also.

At first it looks good, but Trudeau has Nicer hair than Trump.

Really, what would it bring to either side? Trees, Fresh Water and Sticky Sand to US, Money, Military and People to Canada
