Default 3m reflective tape source

i bought some 3m reflective tape to run down the length of my boat trailer. Well the sun bleached it after 6 months and now itís white. Amazon wonít help and 3m claims itís counterfit item. I paid $45 for the roll so I donít want to just buy another roll and waste my time and money.

does anyone have a source for this stuff?

You should be able to find some DOT approved stuff at auto stores or trailer shops. SOLAS grade is much brighter, though

Try Uline or Grainger. I sure don't expect them to have counterfeits.
Uline sells so much of this sort of stuff that if it faded, they'd hear about it and do something.

Look up the distribution network for 3M and buy from one. Only way to eliminate the possibility of counterfeit product. This is a BIG problem in the bearing industry too.

Personally, and speaking from experience of buying the stuff in bulk, get the flat 18 inch long or so strips instead of rolls. Not being rolled gives you flexibility in that if your pre-cleaning prior to application isnít perfect, there is no curl to the tape to lift it off the metal underneath. Also works better when dealing with cold metals that tend to not take adhesion as easily.
