Default NVIDIA tech behind self driving cars

Interesting that NVIDIA is developing the hardware and software for autonomous driving with Toyota, VW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi & Volvo. NVIDIA has long been known for graphics processors.

Interesting Yotube showing their system at work:

Its going to change the way we all drive in the near future. I have driven VW's and Audis with their current driver assistance systems. Amazing but sometimes annoying although you can reduce the annoyances by tweaking the settings. I have been driving since 1969. I am ambivalent about the subject. I enjoy high performance cars and driving but on the other hand there is nothing really recreational about driving down I95 to Miami.

Great to see nVidia getting back into things. Many years ago, when graphics cards for gaming rigs were starting to take off (after 3Dfx's Voodoo..came the nVidia TNT, and ATI Rage)...I preferred nVidia for quite a while.
