Default 2020 Mercedes GLE Beware!!!

So I ordered a custom built 2020 Mercedes GLE 450 4Matic for my wife which is a brand new model which came out this spring. It has the latest and greatest technology with 2 huge video screens, semi-autonomous driving, and all kinds of high tech stuff. But BEWARE of Quality!!!!

After 3 weeks of ownership and 2,000 miles while driving on a busy street, the Check Engine Light comes on suddenly, and the Vehicle goes into limp mode with no warning! Now it will only go 5 to 10 mph on a very busy street. I need to move over to the curb to pull over, but cars are wizzing by! I finally pull over to the curb and block the far right lane and shut off the vehicle and shut it back on to reset the computer. The car now accelerates normally but the Check Engine Light stays on! I take it in for service the next morning and it takes them over ONE WEEK (actually 2 weeks and 170 miles of their driving) to diagnose and fix the problem.

This vehicle is not assembled in Stuttgart, Germany but is assembled in Alabama. After multiple tries they diagnose that on assembly, 3 or more pin connector wire connections were NOT MADE to the accelerator pedal!!! How does that even happen! Where is the Quality Control? Why did the Check Engine Light not come on right away?

If this had put me in limp mode on a busy Interstate which I drive very frequently with 70mph speed limit, then it would not have been precarious, it would have been LIFE THREATENING!!! This makes me disappointed and a bit angry! Having owned Mercedes for 32 consecutive years, I will hesitate the next time, and will definitely avoid Mercedes not assembled in Germany.

You just bought a brand new 2020 MB.
You have owned them for 32 years.
You only want the ones from Germany.
You’re not very subtle.

Fire the workers, shut down the bama plant and send those jobs to Germany where they know how to make cars. Happy now, crybaby.

The nanny tech on new cars sucks. Everyone I have known that has owned a high end Mercedes has had a lot of problems with them. I leased my ex-wife a clk years ago and it didn't even make it 5 miles out of the dealership before it shut down and had to be towed back. The wrong ECU chip had been installed in the car at the factory. It was the V6 model - had the ECU of the V8 - I dont know how that is possible but that is what they told us the problem was. That car was a huge POS.

Humble brag.

What should I do to keep my new Rolex from scratching my 12 inch dick when I pull out my gold money clip full of 100s?

Just remember that you cannot call it just a Mercedes, a Benz, or an m-car around here. Since this is The Hull Truth (THT would seem unacceptable), you MUST call your car a Mercedes Benz, each and every time you refer to it. You must do this because someone on The Hull Truth says so. I forget who, but they self appointed themselves in charge of what we can call our cars, else we are called names. ☠️

Seems that brand has some quality control issues somewhat like some boat builders who forget that you have to double check things at each stage of assembly. Sorry that you have problems. When you pay a premium, you should get quality.
