Default Guess the Auto repair bill? :)

My sweet Brain injury fiance- driving to work on 95. She doesn't remember how, but hit a retread that either came off a semi or had been sitting in the lane.

pics below (i hope) But She came home that night and i was upstairs, she had gone out to garage to get something out of that fridge and i hear my name VERY loudly. I come rushing down and she says "what happened to my star?" (the mercedes star)
I say "I have no idea?!" what is wrong? I am thinking someone vandalized or stole her mercedes emblem.

I go out to the garage and go "holy sheet!!!" "what did you hit?!"
she "Hit?!" " i don't know" she comes out with me and goes " oh no" " must have been that tire in the road"
I "what tire what hit??? were you in a wreck?!?"

She "I thought i told you"

"ahhhhhh, NO!" LOL brain injury fun LOL glad she was safe and not hurt.

anyway, look at pics and guess how much repair bill was

Well from the looks of the picture. You need a new headlight cover. And a new “star”. I don’t know if the headlight is sold as a unit or if that piece is sold alone or as a part of the bumper valance.

Anyway, 500 in parts 500 in labor, 1k is my guess but that could range widely based on other damage and what comes as a unit.

if it is the illuminated one it is $1000. plus labor, super secret Mercedes wiring needs to be done.
was going to put one on my girlfriend's car. I think the standard one was 300 or so.

oh the head light will get you another 500 or more. dealer here wanted 120 just to change a bulb. they are a bitch to do but not bad when you realize you are "paying yourself" $120 LOL

who really knows?? but yes. Drs have blessed it 100% Even w 90% brain power she is a way smarter person and safer driver than HUGE majority of the selfish nuts out there.

But i get your point and take NO offence. Its been a ride!

It's crazy but the injury has made her even sweeter than she was before. But yes tons of memory issues. She leans on her navigation a LOT

If you met her socially you would never know. Unless you hung around or talked to her enough where she repeats a story or forgets something in front of you.

It it is one of the moving headlights like a BMW the headlight alone is $1500.
Whole front end has to come off to be replaced.
the 4K price sounds about right.

Under 10k, more than 5k. I'll go $8,001

Set a time limit or put up a poll. Winner gets bragging rights.

it really depends on who does the work!

my guy can do it for about $500-$1000 and make it look brand new. he works way to cheap!

standard body shop $2500

Mercedes $4000-$5000
