Default Just another day on the road in Fl.

Going south on I75 yesterday about 25 miles North or Orlando.Passed a guy driving a uhaul towing a small SUV .As I pulled up along the side I noticed the tow straps were not installed. This guy is going 70 with the car just sitting on the dolly.
tried to get his attention but he kept on going .
Called FHP to report .

No worries.
Florida has good roads and no potholes.

Mr Darwin is hard at work here.

You were on I-75, I assume you mean north of Orlando, please explain exactly where you were?
And I feel so much safer now.

I've towed hundreds of cars no straps used as did other shops....many which still do.....the angle an weight is sufficient....the force to reverse it and remove the tires would have to be GINORMOUS

That was 10 years ago.... I'd like to think I would do things differently now

I've seen that numerous times by AAA and private towers.
1. Stop... don't move
2. Take pics
3. Call owner or boss
- here's a list of potential problems prior to dropping it off here......CYA

He was obviously moving here from a "more northern state!"

The Turnpike merges with I-75 at Wildwood about 25-30 miles NW of Orlando.

Nice save, but that is quite a stretch..lol If I'm on 75 , I'm going to reference towns/exits on 75 like Wildwood, Ocala or Bushnell...not Orlando

If it's straps all they do is point in the direction the load went off. Anytime we tow anything like that it's with chains.
