Drink Gin?
I just go out in the woods and lick a pine tree.

I have been getting a gin of the month since January. My favorite so far is Striped Pig from SC. For tonic water Fever Tree. I also use ginger beer with fresh basil out of the herb garden to change it up. I mainly only drink gin so my go to is Seagram's with Schweppes diet tonic water. I tried a good one at a local P.J. Whelihan's called Five Saint's made in Norristown, Pa. Hendrick's got me into trying different gin's. I enjoy it occasionally with cucumber insteadt iof lime. Thanks' for some suggestions for me to try. The picture is the first Hendrick's I tried in a place in Bethesda, Md.

Thats the problem with Gin... Many are just as you describe...

The higher end Gin's can be very good - you just have a try a bunch until you find the one you like...

Try the Botanist - doesn't taste like eating a tree with grass ...

Had a cousin who was a professional G&T drinker. She put a little sugar in hers.

My experience..European Schweppes tastes different, and better.

Hendrick's for me. I am not picky about tonic. Just don't use too much.

I no longer drink hard alcohol due to the affect it has on my stomach. When I did:

Bombay Sapphire was the gold standard. Tanqueray if I couldn't find that. If I couldn't find either of those two, well, I wasn't having a G&T. Someone introduced my to Hendricks about 5 years ago and I always keep a bottle in the house. Ballast Point's Old Grove gin is really good as well.

Another vote for the Kirkland Gin, great for large parties.

Hendricks is usually my pick.

Some folks put a couple of drops of Angostura

And then fight the pine tree. My feelings exactly.

Tanqueray, Bols, Beefeater, Larios gins, Schweppes, Nordic Mist and Royal Bliss tonics, try your G&T with lime instead of lemon or apple, crushed peppercorns and various other stuff they chuck in there, Gin Bars are quite popular here in Europe.

Give the Jack Rudy tonic syrup a try. Mix with soda so you get the strength of tonic you like. There'e enough citrus in the JR that I dont use lime...sometimes a thin slice of cucumber.

For gin with it I agree with the above....if it's with tonic dry dry dry, and I think higher end gins are mostly lost on a G and T. Bombay Sapphire the go-to, and if you can find it the Four Pillars Dry from Australia is really nice.
