Thank God nothing happened and the police got him. Thanks to the tipster. (This is really close to me).

Glad this was the outcome. Good thing the tipster came forward.

Is school still going on up there? Our kids have been out for 3 weeks now. And 4pm aren’t all the kids home by then anyway? I wonder what the real story is. Maybe a custody dispute or something.

mwgoldman, yeah, schools up here in NJ are ending now, some next week. (We also don't start until around Labor Day).

No idea what motive is, but yeah, probably some kind of custody dispute or a jilted lover (teacher, etc).

Don't worry. We'll ban guns and that will cure the insane people.

Where does it say anything about him being insane? All I see from the article is that he was angry about getting jilted by a faculty member with whom he'd been in a relationship. He was a pissed off guy with a gun, who seemed to want to make a statement to his ex lover. Don't make this about mental illness just to protect the second amendment. He was an armed, angry, asshole, not a mentally ill person.

Driving 100+ miles with a loaded gun and all that ammo because your piece of tail dumped you shows a certain level of mental illness.

Only if you call lack of reasonable anger management response mental illness.

Not necessarily, unless he has a history of such actions.
