I've been retired almost 20 years, but then I never really worked! Been in the Bahamas long enough to learn that nothing is really that important! NOTHING! Particularly things that you cannot control.

This is not what we had a vision that retirement would be like.

We have a city house and a lake house, and about all I do is build, cut grass and move "stuff" around. Never can seem to get on the top of things. When things get too bad, we head for our fifth wheel trailer in the NE Georgia mountains.
Bamaman: What an awesome sacrifice that you and your wife are making by taking in your Granddaughter ! She did not choose her Mom's situation and will be far better woman for your love and attention. Who knows, it might even keep you from thinking and behaving like us old farts.

At a certain point you have to realize that some people desire a certain stress level and if they don't get it from real issues, bullshit things will provide it for them. You really need to step back a little and tell yourself, this is nothing, relax and enjoy life. It is a finite thing. If you need something to worry about, wonder if your doctor is an overpaid quack, what happens when the government can sell their bonds at 2% anymore or if we are going to be hit by an asteroid. The rest is nothing.

In the nicest way maybe you're just old and cranky.
