Cody Jinks to me is the best country artist going right now. He's not this bullshit bubble gum country they are shoving down your throat on the radio. I've seen 3 country artists in concert and they all bored me to death. I saw Chris Stapleton with Hank Williams Jr. Chris although a great singer/songwriter is a boring ass show. Hank was a mess. He changes almost all the lyrics to his songs or let the crowd sing for him. I hated that show.

I saw Cody Jinks at The Ranch in Ft. Myers and was blown away. The overall energy of him and that show reminded me of the Rock/metal concerts I usually go to.

Few of my favorites. Don't think you will find these on a Luke Bryan or FL GA Line album.

I just realized my taste in music probably has more to do with the percentage of caucasians in the band more than anything else .

There has also been some tremendous contributions by Women but it appears very little appreciation.

^^^

A lot of the modern female country songs seem like whining. Walking After Midnight they are not.

About the only Country on my playlist is Chris Stapleton. I really enjoy his music. "Them Stems" always makes me smile

Good Luck

You’ve got a long and deep rabbit hole to travel with this. Pre-2000 country music especially pre-95 or so and as far back as you can find is some great music. Trying to go artist by artist you’ll never get them all. A lot of been named already but I would say go to pandora or similar random music player and set up station. I really like “kieth Whitley” radio on Pandora. Plays everything from as far as back hank sr, lefty, Marty, etc to the 70-80s stuff from Whitley, haggard, Jennings, jr, Conely, in into the 90s stuff and even some into the current stuff that has the older sound. Anytime I’m cleaning fish, on a long drive, working on something, or just sitting on the porch drinking a beer I generally just set Pandora on that and let it play

Michael Nesmith & The First National Band:
"Magnetic South"
"Loose Salute"
"Nevada Fighter"
"Pretty Much Your Standard Ranch Stash"
"And the Hits Just Keep On Comin'"

All his albums feature legendary pedal steel guitarist O.J. "Red" Rhodes.
Here are a few of my favorite songs from some of these albums:
