Default I have a need to BRAG

My grandson turned 18 in October,sat for and received his CG license to run charters, bought a charter boat to run half day charters.

today he traided trips with his father ( dad run his boat) JP 3 run the Reliance offshore ( 52ft boat ) first fish caught was a 300 pound Blue

He starts school at Cape Fear community collage in August for firefighting science.

makes me proud to say he is the seventh Canning to be under USCG license.

Reliance, the sea foam green boat out of Hatteras? I think it's a Sunny Briggs. I used to mate down there and spent a lot of days fishing next to them

Here they are coming out of a rain storm over 10 years ago

Agreed, you DO have a need to brag. He's accomplished a lot for 18.

Awesome, awesome, awesome beginning to what will most definitely be a life filled with perseverance, huge accomplishments, Good old fashioned hard work and well earned success.

From the top on down....everyone did a great job raising this family unit.

I'll be praying to the good Lord to cloan you folks. i

That's a huge amount of accomplishments at such a young age...

Not many kids earn my full respect at 18, he sure does!

This is a TRUE American success story. Also proves no need for college, especially for firefighter, IMO.

Of course, promotion is dependent on training and education.

Very cool....Course he gonna be a hose dragger (cop humor bud..Lol)

Really that is great he wants to do community service and at 18 getting his captain's license is an accomplishment. I almost went ahead and got mine at 24 when I was in the Florida Marine Patrol but did not, simply because I did not think I would use it and I wouldn't have... Still got all my log books to prove part of my hours...
