Default Could use some prayers today.

Guys and gals, If you wouldn't mind keeping my family and I in your prayers I'd greatly appreciate it. Just found out my mom fell last night hitting her head on the floor. She received 5 staples and the CT came back with a brain bleed, not sure what the next step is but they are monitoring. I'm a paramedic/ff so I know the outcome of these things aren't usually good or if they do survive there is rehab and deficits.

Prayers sent!

Went through similar this past Christmas with my mom who is 90. She didn't step high enough going into the mall and did a face plant on the sidewalk. Cut a big gash in her forehead which required stitches and skinned her nose and broke her lip open. Glasses were smashed. Thankfully no broken bones and no brain bleed.

I understand your concern about the brainbleed but the Great Physician can take care of that through prayer if it be his will and desire to do so. Place your trust and confidence in his ability.

My sister sent me this picture from the ER. It really freaked me out.

On the positive side, my Mom is now fine and you can barely see the scar on her forehead. She is now much more careful. It was a wake-up call for her that she can't move and do things as quickly as when she is 20. She now texts me everyday to let me know where she is going and that she is OK which was a struggle for her to do before the fall. She is fiercely independent and tough. I suspect your mom is as well.

OP...IMO, folks that are in your line of employment become accutly aware of all the negative info from accidents, hip breakage, falls, etc in the elderly because as humans we're either predisposed in that direction, or learn this very morbid behavior.

I don't think positive stats are compiled for those who do very well with treatment and live long happy lives. I personnally know more good endings then bad.

Please take that into consideration.

Prayers sent!
