Default high schol graduations in France

a person I know who lives there told me (based on his experience 10 years ago ) that they dont have a ceremony.
can anyone confirm that?
I guess they just mail the certificates out, or post them on the government web site.
Last one I went to had over 1000 grads and they all "walked".
Maybe its time to stop the process/ceremony?

Never understood the hoopla.
they pass their classes and move up a grade.

or they fail some and they still move up a grade.

I think France is more the norm than the exception. Still, why not celebrate when you can.

Yeh, they are a bunch of wimps. Fleeing Paris with the German Stukas strafing the civilians fleeing, what were they thinking admitting that it was a lost cause to save the civilians fleeing. Also don't forget they financed our war of independence which caused their king and queens heads and a revolution but hey, let's pick on the French.

Without them, we would be speaking The Queens English. and using the Metric System. (Note: Metric system not all that bad)

Um, no. Paris wasn't under attack while the French retreated to Dunkirk. In fact, most of their army was un-engaged throughout that portion of the battle. Nice try though.

Dunkurk and the civilians leaving Paris we're two entirely different things.

Lots of revenue generated by graduation ceremonies. Ceremonies will not end anytime soon.
