Anything they do involving a boat ramp. Primarily fishing off the courtesy docks and parking in trailer spots.

  • Put empty bottles, cans, food wrappers back in the cooler when there's a trash bag hanging off the side of the leaning post
  • Ask to head back in early because they're too warm, too cold, too tired
  • Wear marking shoes, leaving black streaks all over your deck

My biggest pet peeves, Spray Suntan lotion (stains the hell out of the seats), Red or orange colored drinks or food (mentioned), Not making your child wear a PFD while underway. (I will not even idle if under the age limit), Not securing anything that will blow away when I say "We are about to go fast, please secure everything" This includes hats, towels, and ferrel children. Last, Jumping off the boat knowing that there are 3 bags of trash, two coolers and 2 doezen wet towels that need carried back and just saying thanks and leaving.

I can deal with most other things knowing they dont know, but thats my list of "never coming back on my boat"

Taking off footwear before getting on. Not putting dock lines away.

Constantly saying “ the best days are they day you buy a boat and the day you sell it”. No...boaters don’t say that, just people who shouldn’t own boats.

Good way to put that one. They don’t get it.

I have had people say that to me, but so far, Never when out on the boat. I probably would not react well...

Not to mention that it ruins your chartplotter, etc. display screens. I learned that one myself the hard way many years ago.

Last summer I took a "family member" out, told him upfront I'm on no time table, he said "Cool". About 4 PM he says, "I got to get back soon to start cooking." I pulled up to the nearest marina and told him to call an uber, once both feet touched the dock I turned away and didn't look back.

Took my daughter for ice cream and a visit to her BFF's house for some hot tub time. Made it home in time for dinner.

this is yet another reason boiled peanuts are awesome. Cook then and freeze them. No crumbly mess on the boat.

The dreaded spray sunblock bottle. Snuck on by a guest. Fell out of the electronics box while drifting over a reef and same guest decided they absolutely needed some sunblock at that moment. Last time they ever went out with me.

The way they bitch and cry when I’m dragging a dumb shark or kicking a raccoon off my boat.
