i told her i would ask on here to see cause she says im the only one that can do that, sooo

My Pop could drink coffee all day anytime and fall right to sleep. Me, not so much. Had 3 cups sitting here in the dang ER with the wife Hope we can both sleep tonight if we ever get out of here.

I never drank coffee. Can’t stand the smell. I do consume a decent amount of unsweetened iced tea daily. Try and stop drinking it after 8pm but i normally don’t go to sleep until after 1am.

Dobt drink soda snymore but a can of coke after 8pm and I’m up till 3am easy.

Me. Years ago while stationed in Italy I worked shift work. The “Mids” shifts (10:30 pm - 6:30 am) were the worst. We would drink so much coffee during those shifts (7 years of it) that I seemed to have developed a resistance to it. So I’d drink more coffee - which made the situation worse. Now, if I’m driving overnight, drinking coffee will put me out. It’s almost like a sedative to me now.

My Pop always said the only way coffee keeps him up is if he knows thereís some left in the pot. Itís pretty much the same with me.

I grew up on good Puerto Rican coffee and not in those teenie cups either. I can drink it before bed and sleep like a baby.

No problem sleeping after having coffee.
I can drink it on the way to work (one hour drive) and take a nap if I get there early.
After dinner or later, no problem sleeping.

I usually have 1 cup in the A.M. (6:30-7:00) and another around 8-9P.M.. Don't care for it during the day at all. Told my P.C. doc about 3 weeks ago that I have trouble getting to/staying asleep at night and asked if it was o.k. to take Melatonin? After I told him about the coffee at 8-9P.M., he said DON'T do that!

Getting ready to take the Melatonin in 1/2hr. or so. Can't tell yet if it helps, but I DID have some coffee at 8P.M..

Drank TONS of it in the Navy while working "2-2-2 and 80" shifts and it didn't affect my sleep that much. But that was 50 YEARS ago.

Regards,

Not me. I stop at noon. No way I'm sleeping if I have a cup with dinner and certainly not later than that.

About 4-5:00 is my cutoff.

My wife can have whatever after whenever and be asleep in 30 seconds. Of course sheíll snore like a banshee all night, but wonít impact her

Doesnít affect my sleeping one bit either. As said in an earlier post, I can drink it and if I get to the office ( after the gym) a good bit earlier than start time, I can easily nap. Same at night. I can actually go to sleep quicker. It has a calming effect on me. Beer/wine have an opposite effect on me. I can fall asleep quickly and will sleep hard for a few hrs, then Iím up until the following evening - thatís why Iím posting this at 1:40am!

I can sleep just fine after drinking coffee. Usually have a cup or 2 around 8. Night time coffee is comforting. Sleep by 10 usually.

I had same experience, worked midnight-8AM shift for 3 years and drank 4-5 cups per shift.
Got home at 9AM and right to bed slept like a baby. Coffee has no effect on my ability to sleep since then.

This is why all the buffet restaurants with early bird specials frequented by old folks serve Sanka.
