Bart Starr and his son owned a real estate / investment company that at one time occupied the same suite as the company I work for. Occasionally we would get mail for them. 99% of it was junk and we would just toss it. One day we got a large envelope that look suspiciously "personal" and had an NFL return address. I knew where their new office was and I passed by there occasionally so I just dropped it by. His secretary opened the package and it was a bunch of stuff from the Hall of Fame including a gold card which was his "lifetime" pass. She took my name and address and he sent me a nice thank you note and an autographed Packers photo.

I met his when I was about 14 years old. It was at a promotional meeting for a company my dad was interested in becoming a member of the board of directors. I have never had any interest in sports then or now. He took some time to talk to me about other things because I clearly knew nothing about football or football teams. Nice guy, but I was surprised that he was smaller than my idea of a football player.

Rusbob i can’t say because I don’t know and I wouldn’t sell it. I have a dream of a memorabilia room. The funny thing is that my dad was a baseball player and so was I, but the best cards i have are from my dad picking up some football cards back in the 50’s

Classy man, on and off the field. And has been a real friend of WI and as a resident, I appreciate that.
