Default Sons car stolen in Savanna, Georgia advise

My sons car was stolen from his home early Friday morning. Police and insurance have been contacted. Car was parked next to home in driveway close to their home. They never heard anything. Son worked hard for years for his car and in a matter of a few minutes some P.O.S. steals it. I truly hate low life thieve’s

More than likely it’s either chopped for parts or abandoned.

Any suggestions on how to locate if it’s not to late?

If it's been gone more than 24 hours it's probably in pieces. Not sure if he had OTC on his insurance policy or not but if so, I'd file a claim and see what happens. BTW, an OTC claim isn't chargeable as far as insurance points go.

ETA, were the keys in it? The only reason I ask is that there is a rash of vehicles being gone thru if they are unlocked and stolen if the keys are in it.

He has possession of all keys and the car was locked. If you have full coverage isn’t comp generally included?

I had a truck stolen a couple years ago. It was found a couple hundred miles away a week or 2 later. Some minor stuff had to be fixed but other than that no big deal. The truck is still rolling strong. Best of luck to your son! Thieves suck!

Given the thugs in Savannah, you are lucky this is all that happened to your son.

Sorry, I should have said comp. It's actually Other Than Collision (OTC) but we are talking about the same thing. File the claim. It isn't chargeable and if they find his car in one piece, just get it back. Any damage to it would be covered.

I canít agree more. I told him had he caught them in the act and confronted them that it could have turned very violent.

This happened to my dadís truck several years ago. Truck was missing for three weeks before SAvannah Police found it. When they did, he wished they didnít find it. Truck had 2000 additional miles on it and smelled like weed, had scales in the truck when it was recovered. Funk wouldnít come out, traded it in a couple days later. Good luck to your son, and agree with the post about thugs in Savannah. Itís best he didnít see or hear anything. Grew up there, still go back to check on my mom.

Will probably be found abandoned/burned in the old Cow pastures at the end of the State-named streets (Georgia Ave, Texas Ave, etc). Thatís where most of them end up.

Had a brand new truck stolen with only 348 miles on the clock;. Insurance wanted to put the screws to me but I stuck with it. Just don't let the insurance cockroaches wear you down

It really is becoming a shitty place. and now the bums are starting to arrive in large numbers, too. The local govt won't do anything about them either, other than allowing them to live in large camps near downtown, and building them tiny homes to squat in.

I moved away from Savannah in 1980 because of crime, and it's gotten worse. It's a function of piss poor police, inept gubment, and race. Too bad, such a beautiful setting. Unfortunately, Savannah has a long history of bad decisions. "Let's build the biggest paper mill in the world 5 miles upwind from town".

Honda Accords have always been at the top or near top of the most often stolen vehicle list
