Default So how is your weekend going.... mine, not so much

Boat lifts works- nice. Bad breaker in the salty air

head to river this morning ahead of the fam
get to boat. Neighbor has run and ext cord for me so battery charger could do its thing last week. Awesome

hook up to boat. 4 wheel low down my aunts sand ramp

crap tide is falling. Big heavy 26’ cat. Stuck
not quite enough to float rear. Engines start first touch of key. Power off- nope

cousin comes out to help. Tries rocking truck. Nada. Rear tires are on the axle. Tide falling. Boat is stuck on trailer. Truck is stuck on ramp. Put a board down under water and managed to get trailer off ball. Truck is stuck

another cousin helps me out w a Touareg F250 feels shame.

So so truck is free. Trailer under water and boat stuck on trailer. Tide is falling. This was at 12pm. Next high 9 pm!!!

fiance and girls on way down- Nope. Missed a bunch of texts she dropped a full bottle of beer on top of foot. Headed to walk in clinic.

Another daughter coming from another direction calls. Car acting weird. Easy diagnose. Clutch is slipping in 5th gear.

Nailing loose boards on dock. Now sitting in shade watching the other boaters salving my wounds with a couple beers.

Still thankful looking at the water on a beautiful day. Guess I will be able to get boat off at high tide and then pull trailer out w tow strap or something

boating tomo?! Fingers crossed

Dropped a full bottle of beer? You are having a bad weekend.

Opened the pool for the kids this morning.
For me, I'll be off to The Who concert shortly! So far, so good!

Let it go... remember boating is supposed to be fun - maybe one day it won't be anymore.

I decided to skip all that stuff and just drink and relax at home this year. So far I don't miss the boats at all. They are still in my back yard devaluating. I can look at those beauties any time and if for some reason I have too much energy some day I can wash them and do some maintenance. Can't bring myself to sell them.

Dude, come on it could be a LOT worse. You could be boatless and stuck on the hard, out of beer and 2 divorce lawyers looking for you to serve papers and the husband of the GF is cruising up and down the road with a shotgun out the window..... Be thankful for what you DO have, a stuck trailer and boat for a couple of hours.... See, not so bad after all is it??

7 more hours bro. Fired grill up to cook some kingfish we just caught. Go to put baked beans on the side burner. Not igniting. Gas is out. Shit have to exchange the propane tank. Drive 15 mins up a1a and back. Swap tank out. Grill back on. Long weeknds suck.

So far so good. Haven't had to code any kids or teens....but the weekend is just getting rolling. Please socialize a little less and pay attention to kids in more near the pool. Also drive the boat sober and be careful skiing or tubing. And teens like to party on holidays, put a leash on them, medication misadventures, OD's suck.

I'm at home monitoring a re-flooring project that was supposed to be done Friday. All my boats are on trailers in garages, lifts are still on shore. Rained 1.5" this morning, thunderstorms starting again tonight.

This particular holiday weekend won't be one of my favorites.

I found out yesterday and today that two of my three outboards don't want to start.

You're doing OK. I worked so hard on the boat yesterday that I'm half asleep today. So you're doing fine!

Not so bad but only by the grace of God.

Trailered a bit of building material to vacation place. No issue at all. Start motor on muffs and no issue. Tow next door to neighbors ramp and launch, no problem.

Boat to my dock 200 yards, no problem.
Walk over to retrieve trailer and vehicle. Driving out neighbors driveway looking to make sure I am not depositing mud from my trailer wheels.
Oops, my one trailer wheel is wobbleing like it has one lug nut. Stop as soon as I hit my driveway. Hub is coming free of the axle, it is not the wheel.

Jacked up under the house and waiting till morning to attack Luckily the boat was planned to live on lift for the season so there is time.

Just got off the water, remembered why I hate holiday weekends. More concerned about the injured foot, though, how about an update?

Most important question: Was it light beer or something heavy?

At least you guys are getting out.

I went from being retired for 6 years to working 14-20 hr.’s a day, 7 days a week remodeling an entire house single handed.
Feel like a 1 legged man with a prosthetic leg in a butt kicking contest not to mention feeling like somebody beat me with a baseball bat.

The ole bones just ain’t what they use to be.

Any day you are above ground, and not in jail is a good one.
