Sigh, boat was supposed to go in Sunday, still apart waiting on two new trim cylinder to be installed. The engine has to be moved back and the transom plate removed. There's a boat on one side of me and stacked docks on the other, he can't get the Lull next to the boat to move engine until these are moved. I'm hoping for next weekend.

Meanwhile, I took the time to paint every part of the I/O that I usually can't get to because it's apart. I spent three solid days toiling over the outdrive while all the people that were in the water now did nothing but party on their boats at the dock; I just shake my head.

Busy weekend - picked up this old wooden skiff from an ad on Craigslist and put a little spit & polish on her so she should be good o go for another couple decades. Also took the Fortier out yesterday for a shake down cruise and was happy to report she ran great 18 knots through some nasty slop kicked up by 30 mph winds in Buzzards Bay - no fish though I am thrilled my winter repairs seemed to have paid dividends. Replaced the threaded steel rod that connects the auto pilot to the rudder. It has rusted to the point it would bend under load and would not hold course. New rod installed d voila works like a champ. Also replaced the rusted/busted clamps on the aft station morse controls, lubed and adjusted the cables on both stations. Ever since I had the boat the main throttle would creep down if I did not hold it in place, so my hand would go numb on any cruise longer than 20 minutes. A simple adjustment screw solved the problem - it was always on the list of things to take care of but I never got around to it since the turn screw was in a tight spot. Stupid little thing like that makes driving the boat so much more pleasant!

We got a special move from VW, they actually rented our trucks per day to come down to the state of confusion ,, Fla. and move cars.
Been down two weeks on the last one now move is over on the 1st. Headed back to the land of Rednecks where we all understand how we talk.
Enjoyed the run down here . Not been bad, last weekend was kinda tough but nothing AC and a automatic big rig can't handle.
One thing about Fla I do like. They spend the money to keep the Hwys looking good. Reminds me of Calif just 1/5 the traffic.
