Default Acura NSX or Nissan GTR

Bucket List item that I can achieve, which would you buy? Ride quallity is going to be my ultimate decision, the better it takes bumps in the road the longer I can stay in it. Probably gonna be a canadian car. Will mainly use my RX350 for the roughly 2000k a year I have to drive so I figure about 1k a year and those will be road trips. I want to eat oysters in New Orleans (Bucket List), and most other driving will be in the smokies.

Nissan GTR all the way. beautiful cars.

I really thought about one a year or so ago.

Having driven neither I have heard that the NSX is much more comfortable and easier to drive than most "super cars" available.

NSX is a thing of beauty that will hold it's value better than the GTR. You can also get an NSX without all the carbon fiber add ons and save $40k. If you live near the smokies, one of those slingshots would be fun and save a whole lot of $$$.

Did you drive one? How harsh was the ride quality?

GTR if you want an animal vehicle.

NSX if you are more concerned with how people think you look cool.

Ride quality isn't a primary design criteria for either car. Maybe look at Rolls or Bentley...
I saw a NSX close up for the first time the other day and was impressed. I haven't compared performance between the two, but you can't drive either to it's potential on the streets, anyway.
Your left with styling and collectibility, which IMO, the NSX wins easily.

GTR looks like a bloated 350z.

new or used?

i'd think the NSX is a no brainer if talking new. the GTR is basically a 10-year old design and the NSX is brand new. it will be much more collectible if you decide to keep it.

maybe consider the R8 too? or mclaren 570S? if within your spending target?

I always thought that it looked like the love child of a 370z and a Mustang GT... Z in the front, Mustang in the rear.

If Nissan wanted to get really slick with the marketing, they should have called it a Datsun GTR.

I see both cars on a daily basis. The GTR is an old, worn out design. The new NSX took me a while to get used to (I still like the old design), but the more I see it on the road, I'm really liking the new design. And it's an Acura - it should run forever without many issues.

Nsx is beautiful but it’s what, 50% more base price. Unless you are looking at the nismo GTR that is probably more in line on pricing.

Good for you that this is something you can afford.

As for owning something exotic the NSX is more mid engine supercar'y ... I don't really like the GTR's looks .
That being said 2 weeks ago in a heavy rain I saw a GTR defy physics - it's a heavy car . I didn't see him coming until he almost side swiped me at around 45 mph , he may have been going 60 or 70 - it was a red flash by my drivers door kinda lunging at me a foot away . He yanked the steering wheel and totally unsettled the car and I thought this guy has lost it . In my Mustang I would have been spinning counterclockwise like a top . Then the whole car shimmied for a fraction of a second starting at the front and moved like a wave to the back of the car and it was settled again . Having to figure out all the dynamic corrections to apply to the AWD , anti lock , stability , etc systems must have had that computer brain smoking . I was dumbfounded ... it was really something to see .
Not to say the NSX couldn't do the same thing .
