Default Miami Vice

The wife got me the entire series on DVD. Started from episode 1. Damn the show is hokey but I love it. Born in 1978, I was 7 when it started. This was the cause for my career in law enforcement.

Watching the chase with the Camaro and the Stinger. Who knows what road that happened on?

The show sparked my love of Go Fast boats.
I've got a 1988 Stinger for sale, needing a new backbone - if anyone wants a doghouse for their alligator.

Directv channel 541 weeknights at 11pm has been running Miami Vice. They ran thru all the seasons then started all over again. Tonight I watched the season 1 episode with the boat race to Bimini and back. Last night had Bruce Willis as Tony Amato. It’s nice without the commercials.

I was in high school when the show came out. I would set the VCR to record it every Friday night and watch it when I got home no matter what time it was. In college, reruns came on twice a day and me and my room mate never missed it. Nowadays it doesn’t really do much for me but at the time it was legit.

I was born in 78 as well so I kind of remembered it when it was new. So I recently bought the entire series and have been watching it. It is really cheesy and lots of unexplained holes in the stories. I just like it for the scenery and cars mostly.

I also worked a bunch of filming details with the Fire Dept. Boat scenes on the Miami River. Explosions in Watson Island. Fires on Virginia Key. Good off-duty events. They had some cool boats and cars and effects. Art Deco was in and Miami Beach was the place to film also. The cocaine cowboys were in full force and the real crime scenes in south Dade were abundant.
Good show, good music, good memories.

You can also stream it for free on the NBC app, but it has commercials.
