Default My turn in the pitbull lottery

We live outside a smaller town, 5 acre lot subdivisions. North of us is larger country sized lots. In the summer we can't see a house from our lot with the woods around us and our newfie (Newfoundland dog) goes out on her own, barks at coyotes in the distance but never goes anywhere, have an invisible fence but she doesn't wear the collar any more.

3 pit bulls and a lab showed up on the front porch we have no idea who the owners are. Our newfie was on the back side of the hose but came around. My wife had just txt my son to come outside and just as he did the pit saw my dog and it was go time as the pit attacked our dog. Luckily there were two of them to pull them apart as I don't think one person could of done it. My son usually carries but unfortunately didn't have his kimber 45 on him at the time or he could of addressed the long term problem of wondering if the dogs will show up again. I guess the pit bit her a few times, she had some deep gouges in her nose (off to vet soon). Animal control called, etc.

Owner got the dogs, of course said they have never done that and any dog can attack or kill unprovoked. Glad nobody was seriously hurt.

Oh, and a pic of them in case I was wrong about the breeds... (pic not loading, I'll keep trying)

Start holding owner accountable for dogs action. Your pit kills someone, you get charged with murder. Problem solved.

Any other "pics"?

Just baffles me how people let their dogs run free around the neighborhood.

Yes, pitbulls are a risk. However, I don't want a lab, shepherd, beagle, yorkie, pitbull, or anything strolling up on my property.

I'm a dog lover. I have a little 15 lb best friend that always is walked on a leash and never let free.

Doesn't matter what the dog is. Let your dog run free into other people's property = you're a moron.

My old neighbor had two dogs- large poodle mix that would come over and tap on the door to play with my dog. I have opened the and both dogs would come into the house and get a treat and then they all would go out to play. Or if mine took off I knew he was at there house looking to play with them. Neither would intentionally let the dogs out, but if they did we new where to look.
With that said- we knew who owned the dogs and their temperament. I am sure if a pit showed up it would have been a different outcome.

A bat wouldn't slow down a pit for 2 seconds.
Lethal force is the only deterrent for those POS dogs.

I will never forget my dad killing two dobermans that were stalking my mother hanging cloths out on day. He killed them both and dropped them off on the owners driveway.
No words were ever said about it after that. The owners had a for sale sign up a month later and were gone. Different time i guess.

a base ball bat to the face can be very lethal! i big stick, a rope, finger nail file can all provide lethal force!

Probably not unless you are Chuck Norris. There are videos of people crushing cinder blocks on a pits head while attacking and it didn't phase it.

you realize that if you drop a cinder block just right from waste high it will crumble? cinder block has no where near the force a base ball bat to the skull will provide! it can be done, if you know how to swing a bat and know where to hit! the skull is not stronger than a hard swing of a bat!

You need to press charges and shoot the dogs. BTW the answer is always it's the first time.

I love everyone's suggestions of shoot the dog or hit it with the bat lol.

Yes, let's shoot the dog and risk killing our own dog or both dogs when the bullet passes through.

Or miss with a massive bat swing and crack your own dog.

Clearly lots of people have broken up dog fights before.

EDIT: Or accidentally shoot yourself.

Glad you care about your dog. You sound like a good owner.

This is coming from someone who has had to break up no less than 4 dog fights in the last 5 years. Parents have a black lab that would not co-habitate. $1000's in vet bills over the last 5 years.
