If you go to Bariloche you have to take the tram up to Cerro Otto and eat at the rotating restaurant crazy experience.

The meat and chocolate are insane. You have to try Rapanui before you leave Argentina.

Also temuco is a cool city in Chile and not too far away.
I had to look up Rapa Nui, but it sounds amazing... seems like the best place to try it is on Easter Island during the festival... which is a bucket list item anyway!
Thanks for that bit of info... looks like I will be making a trip (or several) to Chile... gee, such a tough break. LOL

We are already planning a trip to Bariloche, just will probably miss the skiing season this year... and while my old body may give me a hard time when skiing again, I will at least hit a bunny slope just to say I got a chance to ski in Argentina.

Argentina is awesome and you'll love it. Great food, wine, culture and people. Medoza, Córdoba and Bariloche are must visits. BA is one of the worlds great cities. Santiago and a zillion other places in Chile are easy to reach. Uruguay is one of the most underrated countries in the world and Montevideo is awesome. So's Punta del Este.

And the hunting and fishing are off the charts. Too many to list but one highlight was a duck hunt on the Parana River that was incredible.

I was born and lived there until I was 21.
Both of you are right in some points and both of you are wrong in some other ones.

The Hep C: a non-issue
Commies: not that many but TONS of stupid socialists still pushing their agenda and challenging power through violence.
corrupt police force: probably the worst ever in the world in the past. New guy in power is trying to change it and slowly improving. That being said, it takes decades to remove a tumor like that, so they still are very corrupt.
Overbearing government: Definitely. Macri has fulfilled almost none of his promises in that regard and has caved to a lot of populist a demagogue policies.*
Macri not being a radical: not he is not, but he has done almost nothing to change the radical ways of the prior SOBs. Those were his campaign promises and the reason most people voted him.
Great food, wine: BEST in the world. Also, women are very attractive.
culture and people: people are good, noble, and service-oriented in the rural areas.*
Mendoza, Córdoba and Bariloche are must visits.: Agree
BA is one of the worlds great cities: if you remove the Argentinians off it...
