Default Ocala fl is it a good place to live

My daughter is a very good horse jumper and I am considering other places to live to give her the best opportunity to pursue what she wants to do. I see a golf course community there that is building a world class horse arena. I have 2 kids one 12 and one 14 is that a good area to raise kids and what about schools do I have to consider private?
neighborhood is called ocala golden golf and equestrian Thanks.

You're gonna give up your current setup to move inland Florida? Damn man, I'm a good dad too but I don't know if I could make that move.

A contour map of intelligence would show Ocala as a sinkhole.

No way I would move from Charleston to Ocala because my 12 year old liked to jump horses.

You guys are funny, Charleston has become an overrun shit hole with obscene traffic, look I am ok with you saying ocala is a terrible place to live that is the question? the point is I want to move out of Charleston not the place it was 15 years ago. So how about people who are familiar with ocala? Now I can live anywhere so if there is a better place to live that has better equestrian options than we have here lets hear them?

I live and am involved with the horse capital of the world Ocala Florida. I know several families that have moved here for their daughters carrer in the horse world what ever it is. Race horses and the hoity toity jumpers rule this area. I can't imagine a better area if you're serious about the sports industry.

Lived here my whole life. Excellent place to raise a family.
Doesn’t look anything like the rest of Florida, very rolling with giant oak trees.

My wife wants a couple of horses so we are headed that way! We bought 40 acres last year about 4 miles away from HITS.
I'm going to start building a house very soon.....And yeah, we're giving up the S. Florida waterfront residence!

well the first option was build a horse farm but it doesn't work out when you need a trainer, so I really would like a golf course community so my son could do the golf thing and the daughter could do her horse thing. So she could ride everyday.

being a snowbird, I can't really speak for schools or even areas. I do see a LOT of horse ranches and related stuff in and around Ocala especially north of Ocala along 441 or 301. I really like the area myself. If funds are tight, there's always Scrambletown or Hog Valley

Revenge will be a good source for you.

All I can offer is that I travel through the area a lot and it is simple beautiful countryside area. Gorgeous and for Florida "Hilly'. We ride Motocross on the far outskirts of the horse farms and it is also a perfect country environment. Very nice area.

welcome. We gave up a waterfront home in Lauderdale to move to the country 30 years ago when our kids were born. They do not regret it one bit. We live in a horse area, but not into horses. Kids and a couple dogs were all i could handle. Lol i am 2 miles from HITS and we service their refrigeration so we are neighbors.

Golden Ocala is an exceptional neighborhood. Nothing to say other than top notch across the board. Gorgeous grounds, homes, golf course, very very nice. Course is very nice with a top notch club house.

The high school for that area is Westport High School. One of the best in Ocala.

As far as shopping: Publix grocery store and basic shopping stores are just up the street. In that area just about everything you could need for shopping is within 10 miles.

We always enjoy our time in Ocala. Happens to have one of the best kart tracks in the USA too.
