Interesting. Appears ends insert into some kind of mounts with retention pins. Round end would allow rotation. Can you find a part number of any kind on it?

Can’t remember the last time I have seen one. Came from a cargo ship obviously. The prototype was actual made in 72’ in Charleston, SC by Barnes Wallis a transplant Brit. He did not apply for the patent until early 74’ which unfortunately gave time for his student to apply first. After a years long court battle it was determined that the student Miles Copeland was the rightful owner by law. They have seen upgrades in materials but remain largely unchanged. There are millions being used in the maritime industry.
