It depends on how much you like to fish and how fast your boat is. I've caught yellowfins, wahoo and mahi out of Wrightsville Beach but it's a ways to the stream. On the other hand I've caught sailfish within sight of Fort Lauderdale beach. Not much difference between 90º and 92º.

I knew a guy named Jimmy Doolan who caught tonnes of from the Lake Worth Pier. This guy was the best fisherman I've ever known (sorry Gramps).

Appreciate the input from you all - I will research all those places / areas suggested to me. Is there anywhere on the West Coast that I should be considering?

Offshore means different things to different people. Offshore can be 20 miles or less off Florida and 60 miles or more in SC or VA

Charleston SC or Wilmington NC should be on your list of places to look into

Where are your imports currently entering the states? What region are they coming from? Planning to move your current operation? Moving employees? Tax levels a concern? Lots of questions about business side of things (I'm in logistics). Lots more questions to consider on business side. On the other side of things, it really depends on what type of fishing you are looking to do. The Gulf is great, but has longer runs to pelagics.
