Default So, what happened to Morehead hoarder boats?

I haven't walked the Morehead waterfront in a month or so, but did this weekend. I noticed the two hoarder boats are gone. I am thrilled, but I just curious if there is a story about them being hauled away. Who took them? Who paid for it? Was it the town government that ordered them gone? Is there a new statute that addresses this in the future? etc...

Thanks

No... Couldn't be that. I saw them since the storm. The cat was beached on the west end of Sugarloaf and the monohull was still at anchor.

Sea tow Morehead City and sea tow Wrightsville Beach teamed up in early January to remove them. Removed both boats and about 40 bags of trash from them

Glad they're gone as well. But I think he's asking what was the legal basis for removal.

The Town Board enacted a new law/rule of a 10 day (I think) limit on moorings.

heres a link to pics of them being removed. I know it doesn’t answer your questions, but figured I’d share.

I always wondered about those boats... Were they inhabited by pack rats or were they abandoned and random people just left trash on them?

The town bought his derelict boats and hauls then off..

he he took the money and bought a litter from russels, and sold one of his other boats to a meth head... the meth head had no money so is working the balance off Somehow.
