Default Bay river fishing and crabbing

Just bought a place off the bay river and was wondering how the fishing and crabbing is in the river and creeks? Also heard the duck hunting can be pretty good around that area. Thanks for any info

Welcome to the area!

What part of the river are you located on? I don't fish it much myself but trout, flounder, drum and JELLYFISH can all be had at different times of the year.

We are up in vandemere creek. Looking forward to getting back to crabbing and fishing again. Looks to be a really nice and quite river that is relatively close to coast for some offshore fishing as well.

Nice area and fairly quite as well. I have a couple of friends that live on Vandemere creek and don't worry it will wake up a little more during the summer as the locals get out and about. Depending on your boat you will be easier and faster to trailer it to Morehead for heading offshore though. And there is always Ocracoke across the sound to do a nice booze/burger cruise if your into that kinda stuff

Welcome to the hood. Trout fishing has been better than ever from what I hear. Flounder fishing was really good last year. Never mind I’m thinking of somewhere else. There’s no trout, flounder, drum, shrimp, croakers, spots, or anything like that in bay river. Ever! Just trailer to oriental and fish the neuse.
