Default Recommendations for 50-80 lb class rods

Hey Guys,

I'm getting back into offshore fishing after a few years of just inshore stuff. Restocking my arsenal, and I just purchased 6 Shimano Tyrnos reels. They will mostly be used for wahoo, the occasional tuna, and hopefully a few billfish. Looking for some solid rods to strap them to, but don't want to break the bank. Hoping not to spend more than 200-300 a piece. Just wondering what you all have and would you recommend it. Not too wild about all rollers, but like to have the tip protected. Just looking for some real world info...thanks in advance...

I never have liked pinnacles big roller guides, not saying anything bad just personal preference.....best bang for your buck I think is star rods... I have taken a love for crowder rods...but they're out of your range..

Thanks for the info guys...I appreciate the thoughts.

Gundog61 - I'm looking at the Pinnacle Rods, just sent him a PM

WeekendHooker - Thanks for the info. You are right, the Crowder Rods are really nice, actually, I have six of his live bait rods for kingfish.

Thanks for the thoughts so far guys!

I’ve got a set of Tyrnos paired with Billfisher rods. They’re relatively cheap and have worked just fine for wahoo fishing.

I’m a fan of Bryan Connley’s Rods. I have bought several over the years. I have never had to have them repaired. I always seem to be replacing guides on my chaos and Penn Rods

Get some custom rods. Save money and get exactly what you want.

All my offshore rods are Connelly rods. They do a great job.

All my offshore rods are Connely rods. They do a great job. I ordered the first six matching custom and when I ordered 5 more a few years later they matched them perfectly.
