Default Hvac Greenville NC

Need to replace a mini split in Greenville NC. Have gotten a few quotes but not happy. Been quoted for a 1.5 ton (18000) and install runs from 3700 to 5400 depending on the unit.

I currently have have one installed so donít need to run high voltage power and have line already run that can be used for refrigerant.

I feel like I am being gouged but donít know.

Does anyone know anyone in the Greenville area that works on HVAC to get more quotes or had one installed recently so I can see if pricing is inline.

If you have multiple quotes, it is likely the going rate.

Glenn’s is probably the best IMO for retrofit work but you are going to pay for it. If you like service, they are good.

Wilson Rhodes does good work from what I hear but I have never used them.

I use a guy named Ben Beacham and he is good as well and reasonable.

If you have more 3 or more quotes and they are inline, pick the one you like and move on. These guys are getting killed right now and being a 4th, 5th, 6th quote is ridiculous and a waste of time. The fact they are busy may mean that they don’t want it either and it, unfortunately, is part of the industry right now.

Get one on ebay. Precharged and you can install yourself.

John Moritz *(252) 975-3000‬

John repaired my HVAC system this past winter and was very good and reasonably priced.

Consider Scott's Plumbing and Heating, 252-745-5135. They installed my mini splits the first time and then again when we added on to the house. I have found them to be reasonable and they show up when they say they will. Good luck.

Your last option is to purchase a MR Cool from Lowes. Just installed a new 3 ton mini split from Lowes for $2500. Very simple to install. Remote thermostat, pre-charged lineset, and simple main power. Something
to look into in my opinion.

The old unit is 15 years old. I had someone come to look at repairing it but itís a no go. Someone previously hot wired the unit by taking the whip and by passing different components.
