Default Made it through...Downtown Wilmington.

Made it through Florence in the downtown area (North of Market). Never seen tree damage like this and there are dozens of 100+ year old oaks down and huge pine trees snapped in half. Power lines everywhere. This is going to take some time to clean up. Months maybe.

Luckily, almost all neighbors made it through without major house damage and no one is hurt. Scramble now is to find gas for the generators. Lots of people are trying to siphon gas from cars and we made one run to the Monkey Junction Exxon which ran out of gas as we were in line. Tomorrow should be better as the lineman are rolling in. Also heard Costco opened up...

Glad you are okay. Thank you for the update. We have many friends and relatives in your area. Sure hope this storm leaves soon.

Same here except near Ashley High School. Took a trip up to market street to check on boat and yep, trees down everywhere. I’ve been here since 1972 and I’ve never seen damage like this. Never seen so many trees leaning on power lines, power lines down. Bad stuff.

Power back on for me and neighbors.

Took the Duke Power guys a tray of hamburgers and chicken straight from the grill. Not sure if it made a difference but they deserved it. Crew was from Ohio and working hard. Have to give them credit.

Sweet. Nothing like the feeling of power coming back on after an hour or two, let alone days. Glad y’all are OK.

Monkey Junction and south are coming back on line, we are right before the bridge and got power mid day Monday with very minimal home/business damage in the area.
Lots of trees down on Myrtle Grove Rd and Masonboro Loop Rd, but being cleared.
Keep praying for the safety of all the crews working their tails off.

Stuff like that is very appreciated and def helps you out too. Smart move.

In Sandy I had a bunch of meat in the freezer and no power... I walked out into the street and told the crews working I was going to fire up some steaks for lunch and an hour later feed a large group. You will never guess who was in the group of houses that got power back first.

Went to Inlet Watch to check on the boat. All is good there. A few boats are cockeyed in the racks but nothing major. Docks and bulkhead seems ok. Crew is putting the place back together. Those guys are great.

Buoy 154A appears to be a bit off course. If you're in the waterway and see it, you're aground.

I know go gas 10 at monkey junction, go gas 1 in front of the hospital, go gas 2 middle college dr, and go gas 5 in leland all have gas . Still trying to get to southport. Not sure if anyone made it there or not yet

Be careful about where you buy fuel. Heard some tanks have been contaminated with flood water.
Is there a test that you can perform to before pumping? …….ICM

They make a paste that's smeared on a stick that goes to the bottom of the tank which will indicate water which the fuel supplier can do. I doubt you'd know at the pump.
