Chase764...would be glad to provide advice anytime. I typically run out of Wrightsville Beach and New River. Lots of bottom fishing, gulf stream in spring and fall.

I live waaaay west of you in Asheville but have work close to the coast and keep a Sailfish 236 near Swansboro. I typically run out between New R, Bogue, or (increasingly) Beaufort and fish nearshore to 30 some miles out depending on the action and crew. Would be glad to get together out east and Iím almost always looking for a buddy boat and often looking for crew.

Chase, I am originally from Rocky Mount. Live about an hour west of there now. Where are you planning to do most of your fishing?

Chase, I'm in Greenville. I keep a boat on Radio Island. I fish mostly offshore grouper/bottom fish, with some occasional trolling thrown in. Inshore, we fish the reefs for flounder and pull some spoons every once in a while. I'd love to help you out with your questions, buddy boat, or split a trip.

I am up for a buddy boat too. We fish out of Bouge and Beaufort inlets. Mainly trolling offshore to as far as weather and fuel will allow. Havnt made it out to big rock yet but hope to find a smooth day next season. We run a 23ft Clearwater cc

I am currently boatless. I have plenty of offshore rods and reels as well as tackle. I can chip in on gas and bait and help with clean up duties afterwards. Iíve got a pretty flexible work schedule so if anyone is looking for extra crew just let me know.

I can appreciate the whole buddy boat issue. My first time offshore I was terrified even with a buddy boat, Thanks CHRIS! We went to the tower out of SouthPort and slayed the king that day.

What I suggest to you is get familiar with your ride and only do what you are comfortable doing. As I was told, your boat is way more capable than you are!

I feel confident going 50 plus miles now that I have an Albemarle 265 but I really started to fish when I caught a ride on a sport fisher and absorbed all the info I could. I now go out with bait already on the leaders and lures and when we slow to trolling speed we have 6 lines out in under 4 minutes. That's even letting the outriggers down. Learned in one day most of everything that I was doing wrong and a lot of things that I had no clue how to do.

I would be glad to take you abroad and ride with us on a trip if your interested. Keep in mind that I am no expert and a super fast learner. I also do some things that most fishermen don't do but I am open to try anything to get fish on the deck and sometimes its not the way the experts recommend, I say if puts em on the deck, who cares how you git them there.

I'm over in the Latitudes at Goose Creek lot C22 but I don't get to fish offshore much these days. Mainly hangout at Coast Guard island or ride up to MHC for the day.

Yeah we do some of that as well. But when the weather lays down out we go. This year has been tough on weekends to get out comfortably

Hopefully this year will be better for the weekend warriors. I work for myself, so I might get lucky and can sneak away if I catch a good day. Just hard to gather the crew to go out with you during the week.
