Default Charter to jig for African Pompano in NC area?

I've heard that Wilmington area/NC coast is a good place to target African Pompano. I really want to jig for them.

I'm hoping some of y'all can share advise on what the best time of year/season to do this would be, if there is one. Also, does anyone have a charter suggestion? Thanks guys.

I personally don't know much about that species but John Cawthern out of Beaufort is a jigging charter pro. Procastinator charters I think it is.

Rick Croson. He's the man for jigging in NC waters, and is very good at APs. If he can't put you on them, nobody can.

Dive the frying pan tower and you'll bag one or two. Used to do that in August, yrs ago. Fun fish to shoot. Reel Adventure charters out there.

Rick and Mike who I would put my money on. Those two know jigging and popping. Been on a charter with Rick and it was the best learning experience I have had on the water. Fished next to Mike and they were hooking up just as much as us.
