Default Charleston Offshore Fishing Reports/Discussion Thread

I wanted to start a continuing Charleston offshore fishing thread for reports mainly but also for those who wish to discuss fishing offshore out of Charleston, SC.

We fished yesterday 5.3.2017. Ran out to 1500 ft and found a nice weed line. Large number of boats working the weed lines. Sportys and CCs. Picked up 4 dolphin over the course of the morning and lost 1 Sail and 1 Blue. Ran back towards the ledge and picked up 3 more. Lots of dolphin with good size back on the docks by other boats.

We plan to go again on Tuesday dependent of weather.

We're headed out Monday as well. Hadn't heard a report of 50 but that's awesome!

Went yesterday too. Went a little north of where we wanted to go since it was a much better ride for me... Started in around 150 feet at a nice weedline and lost 1 blackfin. Heard the chatter about dolphin being found out deep, so we pulled lines at around 10 and ran out deeper. Picked up 8 good ones(about all my little box can take) and headed for the hill about 1. Went with my little bro who needs to go back to gaffing school(even though he has gaffed a semi-truck or two of fish). The ride back was slick.

Plan to go again Tues if the weather holds.

Check out the Wadamacalit Facebook page for that report if you want. That was a straight massacre....

Hopefully we will have a good report to share Monday too

I may have a meeting at 6pm Tues that I should probably go to, but might make it an early trip if weather is looking better that day. My fishboxes are like yours, Reel...not too big!

I did not count but yes I saw the catch from Wadmacalit as we were cleaning fish at Tolers also. It was insane the amount of fish they caught. A good number of big ones too. I have not seen anything like that since in Hatteras in the early 90s. Impressive to say the least. Did they catch them bailing or trolling or do you know?

Not sure what they did, to be honest. Didn't realize you were in Tolers, too. We'll have to get together sometime. I fish on Slay Ride a good bit, but told them if it's calm Monday, the Short Bus may be rolling out!

Northchucky, you ready? lol...looking like you, the Cranky Yankee and myself if we go on my boat.
