Default Charleston THT Get Together

I helped hijack Bellsisland thread in Dockside Chat about getting Charleston area THT folks together: http://www.thehulltruth.com/dockside...ns-city-4.html

Schoolsout suggested a thread down here, so here you go.
Totally open as to where/when, so throw out some suggestions.
Maybe September when it's cooler?

I don't mind hosting.
Could do it at the Redneck Riviera, up the Ashley past Middleton.
Or, elsewhere.
Could do it at Hall's...

I'd like to join in too.

I hope to make Rockville again (rain out last year).

If we waited until November, we could all meet at the MAD event and take troops fishing......

you can always pick my engine cowling out in a crowd.

Last time I went to Rockville, my $100 sandals got stolen and a friend had a boat ram right up the back side of them and had the bow resting in t-top on ride back to Chas. It was fun, but too much of a shit show for me these days...the stories I could tell, though.

I will bring it if I still have it ? I'm having a hard time with slip space at Toler's. I can get a 36' slip but 50's are all sold and not available to rent. Market is hot on them right now so I might sell it and get the new 36 Prowler being developed now.

I made it out last year early in the day when it was pretty. 30 minutes later that storm popped up and it got real nasty real quick. We had a water spout touch down next to us, lightning hit close enough to shut off the engine, the phones in our pockets, and burn my shoulder, almost had a mutiny (Dad's wife lost her shit), did a MOB drill for a floating jacket that looked just like a floater, and ended up stuck on the mud bar across the ramp (electronics were all fried in the storm). Couldn't see the bow through the rain in the storm, and suddenly this CC drifts by on the tide with some drunks swimming after it laughing. Made for some cool video's.

Hell of a problem to have! lol

My buddy lucked up there and has a 50'er for his 36 Bertram...plenty of room to move around until a transient comes in and docks a little too close.

Got a lot going on right now so I doubt I'd be in. But I'll keep a watch out for what y'all come up with.

But here's an idea, y'all could all band together and volunteer for Military Appreciation Day on Nov. 12th to take some active duty service members fishing. Please. We'll be opening up the registration and starting our volunteer recruiting soon.

Thinking about the logistics of hosting something like this and a decent number of folks showing up by boat presents a bit of a challenge. My floater is good for two boats at high tide with one tied up on the marsh side.
Could just tie up together on the river side of the floater or anchor and shuttle folks from their boats to the dock.
Maybe a better option is picking a sand bar somewhere and a day and a time, and do it that way?
