So I have spent the last few weeks calling and e-mailing various trailer dealers in NC. I need to either convert my EZ-loader to bunks (rollers are rusting away but the frame/brakes are good) or buy a new trailer.

Allan at outer banks boat harbor so far has the best prices on either fixing up my EZ loader or buying a new venture trailer. Also he responded to my e-mails promptly, most of the trailer dealers don't seem to check their e-mail.

I wanted to do the same thing last winter. I was tired of dealing with all those rollers. Talked to some repair places in Wilmington. One was about three weeks behind and I had to bring the boat and trailer and let it sit on their lot to be put on the list. I had things to do to the boat and didn't have time to be without it for a month. I talked to another dealer and wanted him to do it but at the last minute found out the boat had to be off the trailer. I decided if I had to get the boat off the trailer I would just do it myself. Glad I did. Took a couple of days and saved several hundred dollars. A lot easier than I thought it would be.

Call Donnie at Starling if you are thinking about buying new, he is better than anyone I've spoken with around here. I am replacing my roller Road King with one of their bunk trailers in the Spring.

Got a lot of good information from this post and outside of here since I started asking around for recommendations.

There is obviously two places with great reputations in the area.

Thanks again for the help.

Another vote for Outer Banks. They just did a lot of work to my trailer and gave a very good price and really seemed to know what they were doing. Plus they are super nice folks.
