Default THT'ers Boat Show Gatherings

Here is a quick view of the January NC boat shows. I have set up calendar events for each day of each show. If you plan to attend, click on the sign up link of the day(s) you plan to attend and sign yourself up.

As you sign up, you can see other THT'ers that have signed up so y'all can hook up.

Last year, we had a large gathering for the Convention Center Boat Show.

Let's see how may sign up and we will plan a feed accordingly.

BASS & SALTWATER FISHING EXPO
Raleigh, North Carolina

The Bass & Saltwater Fishing Expo returns to the State Fairgrounds January 13th, celebrating it's 16th year. The Jim Graham Building Combined with the newly constructed Exhibition Building will be filled to the walls to create the largest Fishing Show in North Carolina. With over 100 exhibitors and a combined 130,000 square foot facility, this is A MUST SEE for the serious fisherman.

Over 120 booths will be filled with the latest in rods, reels, tackle, lures, electronics, maps, apparel, charter companies and much much more. 30+ marine dealers will participate in this years show and will be offering Huge Pre-season Discounts on hundreds of 2006 model fresh & saltwater fishing boats from the $500 aluminum Jon boat to the $100,000 offshore "fishing machine".

Our seminar program, always informative and entertaining, will include some new faces as well as some returning ol' favorites. These professionals will offer tips & secrets on When, Where & How to have your best fishing trip ever. This years program will include BASS (large & small mouth) STRIPER ( fresh & saltwater), CAT FISHING, CRAPPIE, FLOUNDER, SEA BASS, TROUT (both sea & stream), and as always some of the best offshore fisherman in the area specializing in MACKEREL (King & Spanish), TUNA, DOLPHIN, WAHOO& GROUPER.

A returning attraction, but with a whole new look is the original HAWG TROUGH. This 4,000 gallon Aquarium on wheels from Ohio is one of the original casting simulation tanks ever presented to the public. Demonstrations will be conducted everyday throughout the day by Professionals ready to share secrets with you of just what help them get to where they are today FISHING FOR A LIVING.

Also returning is the Trout Fishing Simulation Tank where, for a small fee, you can try your luck at catching a live rainbow trout (catch & release only please). So plan on coming out, bringing the kids and spending the day.

The Raleigh Convention Center Boat Show is the place to be for the largest collection of saltwater boats in the Carolinas. Due to construction of the new Convention Center, the show has moved to 900 Aviation Parkway in Morrisville.

Steve, I may go on Thursday the 26th. It just so happens I have a meeting just around the corner on the 24th and 25th. Will already be staying at the Embassy Suites on Weston.

Going on Sunday, but with Admiral and young Deck Hand in tow (She wants to see the Hawg Trough) I want to look at some pilot houses, they have my fancy if we decide to move up in a few years.
Might catch up with a few boat nuts from my job. Will sign up on HotSpots list, hope to see a few of you there!

Question - Is there a large bldg. on Avaition for the show, or is part/all of it on the outside this year?

My understanding is the venue is a very large warehouse wth much more space then the civic center. The parking is also free.

BTW, I will be manning the USCG Auxiliary booth 1800-2000 on Thurs 26JAN and 1000-1200 Sat 28JAN at the Morrisville show. Stop by and see us!

I don't know where the booth is but it'll be easy to spot--lots of CCA stuff.

Drove by the warehouse on Friday - the free parking is free because there isn't any. By the time the workers park their cars there will be nothing left for the masses. Best bet is to find another warehouse down the road and park. The warehouse is huge....BUT....the parking lot was designed to handle a few freight managers and the freight trucks themselves. 2 rows of parking the length of the building....maybe 200 spots TOTAL.
