Default Big Rock Predictions

How about a thread to bet on the winning boat and fish size?? Fishing starts June 9th.

I'm going to bet on another Hatteras boy and another smallish fish in the 450-550 range. Hooper's winning fish last year was something like 460 lbs.. The huge Fabulous Fisherman pot was refunded last year for the first 500 lb. fish.

I'm going to bet on Capt. Rom on Release. He is due. Hooper and Creature will be in the mix too.

Gulf Stream seems to be pretty far off shore….so I'll predict newer faster boat from Manteo or Hatt Isle wins it…..

I'm gonna have to FAVOR the "Hatteras Captains" also. MUCH shorter run,an waaaay more Blue Marlin to cooperate with the anglers...Weather seems to be a Factor normally as in Bad Weather.

The Morehead boys have been releasing a lot of billfish lately. It seems like the Bill Collector releases one about everyday. I wouldn't count them out.

But they don't always cooperate….I think last two, or last two out of three, have been under 500. (I'm sure visit to website could confirm).

Last two were won by less than 500lb fish. The most painful of which was 2012 with a 499.3lb fish just missing the bonus money!

That was the Charleston based Ocean Yacht crew if memory serves. Ouch. Expensive dadburned few ounces! I guess it was 2011 when Harry landed the 650ish fish, and the 800 pound fish was DQ due to being mutilated by the prop. Brought into the Landing within an hour of each other. 3 blues weighed that day.
